Wipe Tracker
Every Rust server wipes periodically, resetting the map and sometimes blueprints. Understanding the wipe schedule helps you plan your gameplay and maximize each wipe cycle.

What Is a Wipe?
A wipe resets the server map, destroying all player-built structures, inventories, and progress. After a wipe, every player starts fresh on the beach with nothing but a rock and a torch. Wipes keep the game fair and prevent established groups from dominating indefinitely.
Forced Wipes (Monthly)
Facepunch (the developer) forces a wipe on the first Thursday of every month. This is mandatory for all servers. A new game update is released alongside the forced wipe, often adding new content, balance changes, or map modifications. These wipes always reset the map.
Weekly Wipes
Most community and modded servers wipe weekly, typically on Thursdays. Weekly wipe servers are popular because they keep the game fast-paced. If you prefer a fresh start frequently, look for servers labeled "Weekly" or "Bi-Weekly" in the server browser.
Blueprint (BP) Wipes
Blueprint wipes reset all learned crafting recipes. These are less frequent and usually happen alongside forced wipes, but not every month. Facepunch typically announces BP wipes in advance. After a BP wipe, you must re-research items at a research table or find them again in the world.
