Schemes, hooks, secrets, and assassination strategies.

1

Murder Schemes

Murder is the most direct way to remove obstacles. Higher Intrigue skill and more agents increase success chance. Use Spymaster to find secrets for blackmail recruitment.

2

Hooks and Secrets

Hooks are leverage over other characters. Strong hooks force marriage, title revocation, or alliance. Weak hooks provide favors. Discover secrets through your Spymaster.

3

Fabricate Claims

Your Spymaster can fabricate claims on neighboring counties. This provides legal casus belli for war without tyranny. Higher skill speeds up the process.

4

Abduction Schemes

The Kidnapper perk allows abduction schemes. Kidnapping enemy rulers during war instantly wins. Prisoners can be ransomed, executed, or recruited.

5

Spymaster Placement

Place your Spymaster in your own capital to prevent schemes against you, or in enemy capitals to discover their secrets. High Intrigue characters make the best spymasters.

6

Seduction Schemes

Seduce characters for hooks, alliances through lovers, or to produce illegitimate heirs. The seduction focus provides powerful bonuses to these schemes.

7

Poison and Disease

With the right perks, you can use poison and disease to weaken or kill targets. These are harder to trace back to you compared to direct murder schemes.

8

Counter-Intelligence

Assign your Spymaster to "Disrupting Schemes" in your capital. This reveals and counters murder plots against you. Essential for rulers with many enemies.
