Save Often After the Prologue

The prologue has no save points. After completing it, save at every Access Point you find. Death means reloading your last save.

Play All Three Routes

The game has Routes A, B, and C. You must complete all three to see the true story. Route B replays events from 9S perspective with hacking mechanics.

Collect Your Body After Death

When you die, your body remains where you fell with your equipped chips. Retrieve it or you lose those chips permanently.

Fuse Chips for Efficiency

Combine two chips of the same type at the shop to create a higher-level chip that uses less storage space. Diamond-shaped chips are most efficient.

Explore Side Quests

Side quests provide important lore, rare items, and emotional story moments. Many disappear after certain story points, so do them early.

Use Both Weapon Sets

You can equip two weapon sets and switch mid-combo. Light weapon + heavy weapon combos create unique attack chains.

Upgrade Your Pod

Pod Programs are powerful abilities on cooldowns. Upgrade your Pod at the Resistance Camp for increased ranged damage and new programs.

Do Not Remove OS Chip

The OS Chip keeps you alive. Removing it in the chip menu will instantly kill you, resulting in a joke ending.

Visit Emil on the Road

Emil drives around the open world in a truck. He sells rare weapons and items, and has his own side quest chain.

Perfect Dodge for Counters

Dodging at the last moment triggers slow-motion, allowing powerful counter-attacks. Master this for harder difficulties.
