The Kingdom of Hallownest
- 1Hallownest was a vast underground kingdom ruled by the Pale King.
- 2The King brought higher thought to the bugs of Hallownest.
- 3The kingdom stretched from the Howling Cliffs to the Ancient Basin.
- 4At its peak, Hallownest was a thriving civilization with cities and infrastructure.
The Radiance & The Infection
- 1The Radiance was the ancient moth deity worshipped before the Pale King.
- 2When the Pale King arrived, he suppressed memories of the Radiance.
- 3The Radiance fought back by spreading the Infection through dreams.
- 4The Infection turns bugs mindless and hostile, spreading orange goo.
The Hollow Knight & The Vessels
- 1The Pale King created Vessels from Void to contain the Radiance.
- 2The Hollow Knight was chosen as the "pure" vessel to seal the Radiance.
- 3However, the Hollow Knight was not truly hollow - it had an idea instilled.
- 4The seal weakened over time, allowing the Infection to spread again.
The Knight (Player Character)
- 1The Knight is a discarded Vessel who escaped the Abyss.
- 2It returns to Hallownest drawn by the weakening seal.
- 3Unlike the Hollow Knight, the Knight may truly be empty.
- 4The Knight can either replace the Hollow Knight or destroy the Radiance.
The Three Endings
- 1Ending 1: The Hollow Knight - Replace the Hollow Knight as the seal.
- 2Ending 2: Sealed Siblings - Same as above but with Hornet sealed inside.
- 3Ending 3: Dream No More - Enter the dream and destroy the Radiance.
- 4The Godmaster DLC adds two more endings related to the Godseeker.
