Voyage Guides
Every voyage type in Sea of Thieves with strategies, rewards, and difficulty ratings.
Treasure Vault
Gold Hoarders -- Medium
Treasure Vault voyages send you to hidden underground vaults filled with gold, gems, and chests. Solve the map puzzle to locate the vault entrance, fight through skeleton guards, and collect as much treasure as you can before the vault floods. Higher-level vaults contain more valuable loot and trickier puzzles.
Bounty
Order of Souls -- Medium
Bounty voyages task you with tracking down and defeating skeleton captains on various islands. Each captain spawns with waves of skeleton minions and may use special abilities like healing or teleportation. Defeat them to claim their enchanted skulls, which can be sold for gold and reputation.
Cargo Run
Merchant Alliance -- Easy
Cargo Run voyages involve picking up fragile or perishable goods from one outpost and delivering them to another. Cargo types include cloth (damaged by water), plants (need watering), and rum bottles (break if you fall or take damage). Successful delivery within the time limit yields bonus rewards.
Tall Tale
Various -- Hard
Tall Tales are narrative-driven story quests that take you across the Sea of Thieves. They feature unique puzzles, custom locations, boss fights, and cinematic moments. Each Tall Tale has multiple checkpoints and can be replayed for commendations and exclusive cosmetic rewards.
Fort of the Damned
None (World Event) -- Hard
The Fort of the Damned is a challenging world event that requires collecting Flames of the Damned from different death types and a Ritual Skull to activate. Once started, waves of shadow skeletons attack and can only be damaged by colored lantern light. The vault rewards are among the richest in the game.
Skeleton Fort
None (World Event) -- Medium
Skeleton Forts are indicated by a skull cloud in the sky and attract all nearby crews. Fight through multiple waves of skeletons including captains with special abilities. The final boss drops a vault key containing a large stash of treasure. Be prepared for PvP as other crews will contest the fort.
World Event
None -- Hard
World Events are large-scale encounters visible across the entire server. They include the Kraken (attacks ships in open water), the Megalodon (a massive shark), skeleton ships, and the Flying Dutchman. Each drops valuable loot but requires significant firepower and supplies to defeat.
Ashen Winds
None (World Event) -- Hard
Ashen Winds is a world event featuring a powerful Ashen Lord boss on an island. The boss uses fire-based attacks including meteor showers, fire breath, and shockwaves. Defeating the Ashen Lord drops an Ashen Winds Skull that can be used as a flamethrower weapon or sold for a large payout.
