Evidence Identification Guide
Learn how to detect and confirm all 7 evidence types to accurately identify ghosts during investigations.
EMF Level 5
- 1The EMF Reader detects electromagnetic activity on a scale of 1-5. Only Level 5 counts as evidence.
- 2Place the EMF Reader near the ghost room and wait for interactions -- the ghost must interact with an object to trigger EMF.
- 3EMF Level 5 has a chance to appear each time the ghost interacts with the environment, so patience is key.
- 4If the EMF Reader consistently shows Levels 2-4 but never 5, the ghost likely does not have EMF Level 5 as evidence.
- 5EMF readings are temporary and will reset after a few seconds, so watch the reader closely during ghost activity.
Spirit Box
- 1The Spirit Box allows you to ask the ghost questions and receive voice responses. Only some ghosts respond.
- 2Some ghosts respond only when the player is alone in the room -- check whether others are nearby if you get no response.
- 3Ask clear questions like "Where are you?", "How old are you?", or "Are you close?" for the best chance of a response.
- 4The Spirit Box works within a limited range -- stay in or near the ghost room for accurate results.
- 5If you receive no responses after several attempts in different conditions, the ghost likely does not have Spirit Box evidence.
Ultraviolet (Fingerprints)
- 1Use a UV Light or Glowstick to check doors, light switches, and windows for glowing fingerprints or handprints.
- 2Fingerprints appear when the ghost interacts with these objects -- not all ghost interactions leave prints.
- 3Fingerprints fade after approximately 60 seconds, so check frequently after hearing ghost interactions.
- 4The ghost must physically touch a door or switch for prints to appear -- phantom movements do not leave evidence.
- 5Check both sides of doors and all light switches in the ghost room for the most thorough investigation.
Ghost Orb & Freezing Temperatures
- 1Ghost Orbs appear as small floating lights visible only through a video camera -- set up cameras in the ghost room.
- 2Monitor the camera feed from the van or a handheld video camera. Orbs move slowly and are easy to spot.
- 3Freezing Temperatures cause your breath to become visible in the ghost room and drop the thermometer below 0C.
- 4Use a thermometer to verify -- temperatures below 0C (32F) confirm Freezing Temperatures as evidence.
- 5Both Ghost Orb and Freezing Temperatures are passive evidence types that require no ghost interaction to detect.
DOTs Projector & Ghost Writing
- 1Place the DOTs Projector on walls or floors in the ghost room. A silhouette moving through the green dots confirms evidence.
- 2The DOTs silhouette is brief and can be missed -- monitor through a video camera for the best view.
- 3Ghost Writing is detected by placing a Ghost Writing Book in the ghost room and waiting for the ghost to write in it.
- 4The ghost must be in the same room as the book to write in it -- proper room identification is essential.
- 5Both evidence types require patience. Give the ghost time to interact, especially during quiet investigation phases.
