Combat Guide
Master naval battles, sword fighting, boarding tactics, and weapon loadouts.
Naval Combat
- 1Always keep your ship broadside to the enemy to maximize cannon fire.
- 2Aim cannons at the waterline to create holes below deck, sinking the enemy faster.
- 3Use chainshot to break enemy masts and slow their escape.
- 4Firebombs spread fire across the enemy deck, forcing them to stop and repair.
- 5Blunderbombs knock players off their ship and interrupt repairs.
- 6Keep a crew member below deck bailing water and repairing during fights.
Sword Fighting
- 1Sword combos are 3 hits. The third hit has a longer lunge that knocks enemies back.
- 2Block incoming attacks by holding the block button, then counter-attack immediately.
- 3Sword lunge (hold attack while blocking) covers distance and deals heavy damage.
- 4Sword lunge through water lets you travel quickly while swimming.
- 5Combine sword with blunderbuss for a deadly close-range boarding combo.
- 6Jump while sword lunging to maintain momentum and dodge return fire.
Boarding Strategies
- 1Shoot yourself from a cannon to board the enemy ship quickly.
- 2Immediately drop their anchor when boarding to stop their ship.
- 3Kill the crew member doing repairs first to keep their ship taking water.
- 4Use a blunderbuss for close-quarters combat below deck.
- 5Grab their treasure and throw it overboard for your crew to collect.
- 6If outnumbered, hide on the enemy ship and strike when they split up.
