Prey Weapon Guide
Complete guide to all weapons in Prey including modifications and best uses.
GLOO Cannon
- 1The most versatile tool in the game -- freezes enemies and creates platforms.
- 2GLOO platforms can reach any height, bypassing locked doors entirely.
- 3Frozen enemies take bonus damage from all weapon types.
- 4Essential for fire suppression and blocking broken pipes and sparking wires.
Shotgun & Pistol
- 1The shotgun is your primary close-range damage dealer against all Typhon.
- 2Pistol is accurate at range but low damage -- best for finishing weakened targets.
- 3Both weapons can be upgraded at upgrade stations with weapon kits.
- 4Ammo is scarce early game. Use the Recycler to create ammo from junk.
Q-Beam & Stun Gun
- 1The Q-Beam deals sustained damage over time -- devastating against large Typhon.
- 2Stun Gun is non-lethal and essential for incapacitating mind-controlled humans.
- 3Q-Beam cells are rare but extremely efficient against Technopaths and Telepaths.
- 4Stun Gun can also disable corrupted operators without destroying them.
Wrench & Exotic Weapons
- 1The wrench is silent and deals solid damage when enhanced with neuromods.
- 2Leverage neuromods allow throwing heavy objects as improvised weapons.
- 3Typhon powers like Kinetic Blast and Psychoshock are the strongest late-game weapons.
- 4Combining GLOO freeze with wrench attacks is the most ammo-efficient combat loop.
