Smoke Grenade

Creates a smoke screen for ~18 seconds

The most important utility in CS2. Blocks vision for 18 seconds and can be used defensively or offensively.

Tips

  • 1Learn one-way smokes for each map.
  • 2Use to block AWP sightlines on long angles.
  • 3Smoke before crossing open areas like Mid on Dust II.
  • 4Extinguishes Molotov and Incendiary grenades.
  • 5In CS2, smoke grenades react to bullets and grenades creating gaps.

Flashbang

Blinds and deafens enemies for up to 3 seconds

Blinds enemies who look at it. Essential for entry fragging, retakes, and creating advantages in duels.

Tips

  • 1Pop flash by throwing around corners so enemies cannot react.
  • 2Turn away from your own flashbangs to avoid self-blinding.
  • 3Use right-click for a short underhand throw.
  • 4Coordinate flash timing with teammates for site executes.
  • 5Bounce off walls and ceilings for unexpected angles.

HE Grenade

Deals up to 98 damage in close proximity

Explosive grenade that deals damage in an area. Cannot kill a full-health enemy alone but great for chip damage.

Tips

  • 1Combine with teammate nades for 100+ total damage.
  • 2Use to clear close corners before peeking.
  • 3Damage falls off significantly with distance.
  • 4Great for finishing off low-health enemies behind cover.
  • 5Stack with Molotov for maximum area damage.

Molotov / Incendiary

Creates a fire area for ~7 seconds dealing 40 DPS

Creates a fire zone that damages anyone standing in it. Essential for area denial and forcing enemies out of positions.

Tips

  • 1Use to deny common positions and force enemies to move.
  • 2Throw behind smoke grenades to stop pushes.
  • 3Clear Molotovs with a smoke grenade.
  • 4Incendiary (CT) costs $600, Molotov (T) costs $400.
  • 5Essential for post-plant situations to delay defuse.

Decoy Grenade

Mimics weapon sounds and appears on radar for 15 seconds

Creates fake gunshot sounds and a radar signature. Cheapest grenade, useful for basic deception and fakes.

Tips

  • 1Throw at round start to fake presence on the other site.
  • 2Appears as a red dot on enemy radar like a real player.
  • 3Useful on eco rounds to create confusion.
  • 4Explodes at the end dealing minor damage.
  • 5Buy one every round since it only costs $50.
