Every death unlocks new dialogue, story, upgrades, and permanent bonuses. Death is the core loop -- embrace it.
Spend Darkness at the Mirror
The Mirror of Night in your bedroom has powerful permanent upgrades. Prioritize Death Defiance (extra lives) first.
Give Nectar to Everyone
Give your first Nectar to each NPC to receive their Keepsake. Keepsakes give powerful run bonuses.
Try Every Weapon
Each of the 6 Infernal Arms plays completely differently. The weapon with the dark glow gives bonus Darkness.
Use Your Cast
Your Cast (ranged attack) is often overlooked but many powerful builds revolve around it. It also lodges in enemies for bonus damage.
Dash Is Your Best Move
Dashing gives invincibility frames. Dash through attacks, not away from them. Upgrade your dash with boons.
Focus on Synergies
Pick boons that work together. Two gods with complementary effects beat random strong boons every time.
Explore Every Room
Look for room rewards before choosing. Hearts restore HP, Obols buy from Charon, and Poms upgrade existing boons.
Talk to Everyone Between Runs
NPCs have new dialogue after almost every run. Story progression requires talking to characters in the House.
Unlock the Fated List
The Fated List of Minor Prophecies gives rewards for completing challenges. Check it regularly for bonus gems and resources.
