What Are W-Engines?

  • 1W-Engines are the weapon system in Zenless Zone Zero, equipped by Agents for combat.
  • 2Each W-Engine has a base ATK stat that scales with level and a secondary stat (CRIT Rate, ATK%, etc.).
  • 3W-Engines come in S-rank and A-rank rarities, with S-rank having stronger passives.
  • 4Each W-Engine has a passive ability that activates based on the equipped Agent specialty.
  • 5W-Engines are specialty-locked -- Attack W-Engines can only be equipped by Attack agents.
  • 6Upgrade W-Engines using W-Engine Enhancement materials obtained from missions and shops.

Attack W-Engines

  • 1Steel Cushion (S-rank): Increases Physical DMG when attacking from behind. Best for Nekomata and Physical attackers.
  • 2Deep Sea Visitor (S-rank): Boosts Ice DMG and CRIT Rate when using normal attacks. Ellen Joe signature weapon.
  • 3Riot Suppressor Mark VI (S-rank): Increases Ether DMG based on Energy. Zhu Yuan signature weapon.
  • 4The Brimstone (S-rank): Increases ATK for each hit in the combo chain. Best for Soldier 11.
  • 5Starlight Engine (A-rank): Boosts ATK after dodge -- versatile option for A-rank attackers.
  • 6Cannon Rotor (A-rank): Increases CRIT Rate -- solid budget option for any Attack agent.

Stun W-Engines

  • 1Precious Fossilized Core (S-rank): Increases Impact and Ice DMG. Lycaon signature weapon.
  • 2Hellfire Gears (S-rank): Boosts Fire DMG and Impact. Koleda signature weapon.
  • 3Demara Battery Mark II (A-rank): Increases Electric DMG and Impact -- great for Anby.
  • 4Steam Oven (A-rank): Boosts Impact after using EX Special -- solid budget Stun option.
  • 5Stun W-Engines prioritize Impact stat for faster enemy Daze meter filling.
  • 6Pair Stun W-Engines with agents that have fast attack chains for rapid Daze buildup.

Anomaly W-Engines

  • 1Fusion Compiler (S-rank): Increases Anomaly Proficiency and ATK%. Best for Grace Howard.
  • 2Sharkbite (S-rank): Boosts Physical DMG and Anomaly Proficiency. Jane Doe signature weapon.
  • 3Rainforest Gourmet (A-rank): Increases Anomaly Proficiency after using EX Special.
  • 4Anomaly W-Engines focus on Anomaly Proficiency to trigger elemental status effects faster.
  • 5Higher Anomaly Proficiency means more damage when Shock, Burn, or Assault triggers.
  • 6Anomaly agents benefit from fast-hitting W-Engines that apply multiple instances of buildup.

Support & Defense W-Engines

  • 1Weeping Cradle (S-rank): Increases team Energy Regen and provides buffs. Best for Rina and Nicole.
  • 2Kaboom the Cannon (A-rank): Boosts DEF and provides shields -- good for defense agents.
  • 3Support W-Engines prioritize Energy Regen to ensure frequent EX Special and Ultimate usage.
  • 4Defense W-Engines focus on DEF% and HP% for maximum shield absorption.
  • 5The Big Cylinder (A-rank): Increases ATK for the whole team after using chain attack.
  • 6Support agents should prioritize W-Engines that boost team performance over personal damage.
