Tips to Climb Ranked

  • 1Focus on learning one character thoroughly rather than switching between many.
  • 2Learn your character anti-air options. Consistently anti-airing opponents wins games at every level.
  • 3Practice your punish combos until they are automatic. Dropped combos cost rounds.
  • 4Manage your Drive Gauge carefully. Going into Burnout in the corner is often a round loss.
  • 5Watch your replays after losing. Identify patterns in how opponents beat you and adapt.
  • 6Learn at least one combo from every common starter: standing hit, crouching hit, jump-in, and Punish Counter.
  • 7Do not mash buttons on defense. Patience and blocking lead to punish opportunities.
  • 8Study frame data for your character. Knowing which moves are safe and which are punishable changes everything.
