Monster Hunter Rise Rampage Guide
Rampage strategies, defense installations, Rampage weapons, Apex variants, and Anomaly Research.
Rampage Overview
- 1Rampage quests are tower defense missions where waves of monsters attack Kamura Village gates -- your goal is to prevent the final gate from being destroyed.
- 2There are three waves with increasing difficulty -- the final wave always features an Apex monster as the boss.
- 3Counter Signals activate periodically, boosting hunter damage dramatically -- save your strongest attacks for these windows.
- 4Coordinate with teammates to cover different lanes -- splitting up ensures monsters do not overwhelm a single gate.
- 5Completing Rampage quests rewards Rampage Tickets used to craft and upgrade Rampage weapons with unique skills.
Defense Installations
- 1Ballista installations deal consistent ranged damage and should be placed early to thin out approaching monster waves.
- 2Cannons deal high burst damage and can stagger monsters -- aim at large targets for maximum impact.
- 3The Dragonator is a one-time-use devastating attack -- save it for the Apex monster or when the gate is critically damaged.
- 4Wyvernfire Artillery installations deal massive area damage but have long cooldowns -- position them at chokepoints.
- 5Upgrade your installations between waves using the funds earned from repelling monsters -- prioritize front-line defenses.
Rampage Weapons
- 1Rampage weapons have customizable Rampage Skills that let you tailor them for specific matchups.
- 2Non-Elemental Boost is a strong default Rampage Skill for raw damage weapons like Great Sword and Hammer.
- 3Element Exploit and Status Trigger are powerful choices for fast-hitting weapons like Dual Blades and Sword and Shield.
- 4Rampage weapons have balanced stats -- they are competitive alternatives when you lack better options from specific monsters.
- 5You can change Rampage Skills at the Smithy at any time -- experiment freely without permanent commitment.
Apex Variants
- 1Apex monsters are powered-up versions of regular monsters that cannot be trapped or captured -- you must slay them.
- 2Apex Rathalos, Diablos, Zinogre, and Mitsutzune each appear as Rampage bosses before becoming available as regular hunts.
- 3Apex monsters have enhanced attacks with wider hitboxes and new combo chains -- learn their new patterns carefully.
- 4They drop Apex materials needed for crafting the strongest Rampage weapon upgrades.
- 5In regular Apex hunts (non-Rampage), they enrage more frequently and hit harder than their standard counterparts.
Anomaly Research
- 1Anomaly Research unlocks in Sunbreak endgame and adds Afflicted monsters with red glowing weak points.
- 2Hitting Afflicted body parts triggers Qurio explosions that deal massive fixed damage -- prioritize these glowing zones.
- 3Anomaly Investigations are randomized quests with variable rewards -- higher level investigations give better materials.
- 4Afflicted materials are used for Qurious Crafting to augment armor with random bonus skills and slot upgrades.
- 5Investigation levels cap at 300 -- reaching higher levels requires completing investigations close to your current cap.
